The Swingtime Jazz Society was founded by 11 subscribers to Swingtime Magazine. Its sole purpose is to promote good music by sponsoring concerts that feature regional jazz artists. To find out who has performed at previous concerts, see the archives page.
We hold the events on Sunday afternoons and charge a minimum donation of $15 (only $5 for students). The concert by the featured artist runs from 4-6 PM, and it's followed by an open jam session from 6-7 PM. Any instrumentalists and singers in the audience are invited to sit in. We always select a venue that offers food and drink. SJS Membership You are invited - indeed, encouraged - to join the 50 voting members of the SJS. For a mere $100 you get a lifetime membership plus invitations to some wonderful swinging members-only parties. (Couples can be members for the same $100, but they get only one vote.)
